Emerging as champions, they defended their title at the Schuyler Invite amidst cheers and hopes for another successful season. The Warriors displayed tenacity with sophomore Erik Estayul and junior Boo Hernandez finishing in the top five. With times of 18:31.4 and 18:50.2 respectively, they bolstered Schuyler’s lead, finishing 24 points ahead of the closest competitor, Lakeview.

Junior Miguel Mendez, who improved on last season’s results, contributed significantly by capturing seventh place. His reflection on the team’s performance is inspiring: “It feels really great. I’ve been putting in all the mileage during the offseason in the summer.”

Finishing third with three medalists, the girls have set a promising stage for future races, evidenced by sophomore Arantza Catalan’s eighth-place finish who remarked, “A lot of improvements since last year. I was just going to run it and see what happened.”

Freshman Johanna Sebastian also joined the medalists, securing ninth place. The girls’ team looks forward to building on this performance in upcoming meets.
